M-Yachts, founded by boat builder Martin Rosenstedt, began its operations in a car garage in Koskenkylä, Pernaja in 1988. As the business grew, the company moved as a tenant to Loviisa’s Långholmen, into the premises of Loviisan Veneveistämö. With the staff and operations continuing to expand, there arose a need for larger premises.

In 2004, M-Yachts acquired the old war reparations shipyard in Valko, which had stood empty for years. The operations gradually evolved from boat building to include docking services. In the 2010s, additional storage space was built, and the focus shifted more towards winter docking rather than boat building. With the current owners and new management, the operations have expanded in recent years to include boat maintenance and restoration, carried out by both their own staff and a group of local subcontractors.
